The BMW is German automobile and motorcycle manufacturer .

BMW acronym BAYERISCHE MOTOREN WERKE  this company was founded in 1916. Its head Quarter is in Munich , Bavaria , Germany, it also owns and produces the MINI cars and on the other hand the parent company of ROLLS ROYCE motors. BMW produces motorcycles in BMW motorrad  in 2014 they produced almost 2,117,965 automobiles and approximately 120.000 motorcycles. this brand the "BMW"is the part of  "German Big 3" luxury automakers  coming up along with AUDI and MERCEDES-BENZ , which are the three best luxury automobile makers known in the WORLD.



HISTORY

BMW was established as a Business entity followed the restructuring of RAPP MOTORENWERKE AIRCRAFT manufacturing firm in 1917. after the World WAR 1 (WW1) in 1918, BMW was forced to cease air-craft engine production followed by the terms or Versailles  Armistice Treaty. afterwards the company focused on production of Motorcycles in 1923 and when the restrictions were lifted the automobiles production was started too in 1928-1929.

The First car of BMW produced was known as DIXI and stepped into the automobile world and the car was based on the AUSTIN 7 and was licensed by the AUSTIN MOTOR COMPANY in Brimingham, ENGLAND.


BMW`s first significant air-craft engine was BMW IIIa inline-six liquid cooled engine of 1918.
was much appreciated for its high altitude performance. in 1930s with help on German rearmament the company was again able to produce air-craft engines.

By the year of 1958, the automotive division of BMW was in financial difficulties and other financial crises were faced by the company the situation was too much dangerous that the shareholders meeting was held to decide whether to do liquidation on find a way to carry it on.

In 1922, The BMW acquired a large stake in California based industrial design studio, which was fully acquired by them in 1995 , a year back from 1995 in 1994 BMW bought the British Rover Group.(Which at that tie consisted the Rover and LAND ROVER along with other MG brands)

BMW began the production of Motorcycle engines and then after worldwar1 they started the production of motorcycles and now their this DIVISION is known as BMW Motorrad

BMW Motorrad is the motorcycle brand of the German Company BMW, it is the par of its corporate and company development division. The current General Director of this Unit is Hendrik Von Kueheim, BMW motorrad is producing motorcycles since 1923. Its revenues for the year of 2009 were €1,069 million from the sale of 87,306 motorcycles .
