A turbocharger is a turbine which increases the efficiency of the internal combustion engine along with the force produced by the engine and OUTPUT too. All this is done by forcing extra air into the combustion chamber.
This equipment was introduced in early 19th Century when Gottleib Daimler for the very first time used the technique of using a gear-driven pump for air to be forced into the internal combustion engine in 1885. The Turbocharger was invented by the swiss engineer ALFRED BUCHI, the head of diesel engine researched at an engine manufacturing company named Gebruder Suzler.
Turbochargers are widely used in cars and commercial vehicles because of their function of improved fuel economy even with the small engines.
When people talk about race cars or the high end performance cars the most instantaneously the word which comes up to the mind is Turbo Charger. This element also shows up in big diesel engines, Turbochargers`s significance is that the can easily increase the horsepower of the certain engine without affecting the weight of the engine or the whole system. exhaust flow from the engine is used by the turbocharger to drive the turbine for the instant boost to the vehicle /engine by producing even more throttle as compared to the factory tuned car, When the turbine is driven which in turn spins an air pump. The turbine in the turbo spins at the speed of 150,000 rotations per minute (rpm).
Turbocharger lag is the time for the change in output for the required change in throttle. ever noticed the slow throttle when accelerating as a naturally aspirated engine, this is because of the time required for the exhaust system along with the turbochargers to generate the required throttle for the boost for the certain action.
The primary load on the Turbocharger lag includes the friction , Inertia , Compressor
Applications for the turbocharger can categorized into those that requires changes in OUTPUT power such as AUTOMOBILES
