Modification of car is meant to upgrade the car`s factory default engine to own choice and to change the exterior or interior of the car.
In other words, A modified car is any vehicle that has been altered from its original look or state. which is done most commonly with aftermarket components. A modification of a vehicle is purposely done to increase its exterior looks or to increase the performance of the car in any aspect. And the process by which the modification is done is known as CAR TUNING.

COMMON UPGRADES
-MECHANICAL UPGRADES-
A modified car consist of any variable component or non variable component(s) associated with CAR TUNING, When it comes to upgrades the most common upgrade is the changing of factory fitted wheels with stock rims size for example -Rims which are of 17" inches (from factory) and they arechanged to bigger circumference 20",22" numbers can be said which are most likely to be fitted after the ride out through the aftermarket places.
Usually the suspension is lowered to provide more aerodynamic look to the car and stable look by replacing the factory tuned springs ( often with conjunctions with shock absorbers). and for those Car Guys who are addicted to listen to their rides sound of knocking , they change or replace the existing exhaust system with the one with less gas flow restriction.Louder and deeper sound and most importantly often increase in performance of car due to exhaust gas flow rate. apart from all these upgrades factory tuned shifting of car is replaced with short shifter and with shifting knob from aftermarket. or if not this than the very common performance oriented weighted gear knob. The door opener and the direction changer uplifts etc.
-NON-MECHANICAL UPGRADES-
Non-Mechanical upgrades include the Audio system which is not performance oriented and it is common modification replacement.
Significant modification to a car can include the fiberglass bodykit to improve aesthetics and to respray to a more unusual color..
Increasing the engine performance by upgrading the engine components, which includes HIGH FLOW AIR FILTER with additional components such as TURBOCHARGERS, SUPERCHARGERS, and NITROUS OXIDE KITS or AFTERMARKET CYLINDER HEADS. All this addition causes a re-tuning of the vehicle because of increased HORSEPOWER (HP) by certain changes.
