JZ Engine

The JZ engine family is a series of inline 6 automobile engines. This is a replacement for M-series inline 6 engines too. These JZ engines were 24 walve DOHC engine, This concept of engine was availed in 2.5 and 3.0 L versions.

This Picture shows the MK4 Supra (inline 6)

1JZ
First of all 2492 cc 1JZ was produced in 1990 and its production was continued till 2007. The last vehicle in which this 1JZ was hidden under the hood was TOYOTA MARK II BLIT WAGON and CRWON ATHLETE.  first cylinder bore in this series was of 86 mm and stroke was of 71.45 mm this engine was 24 walve DOHC  engine with 2 belt driven camshafts.

1JZ-GELike all JZ engine series, the early 1JZ-GE was designed  for longitudinal mounting and for rear wheel drive which is mostly preferred in all aspects of car racing , driving , fun time.
All these models which were running on this series were 4 speed automatic transmission set by factory as standard.( there was no manual GEAR-BOX was offered)

1JZ-GTEThe first generation of such engine like 1JZ-GTE offered CT12A turbocharges which were arranged in parallel  and were blowing through the side mount and / or front mount ( AIR to AIR intercooler)
with an 8.5:1 compression ratio factory stated that the torque is of 279 metric HORSEPOWER(HP)  205kW at 6,200 RPM alongwith 363 Newton Metres at 4,800 RPM. the strokes and the bores were the same as made in 1JZ (mentioned above).

This variant is available in models listed below:1-Toyota Chaser / Cresta / Mark II
2-Toyota Soarer
3-Toyota Supra MK III
4-Toyota Crown
5-Toyota Mark II BLIT

1JZ-FSEMost probably in 2000, TOYOTA introduced the least recognised  1JZ engine family members,
"FSE direct injection versions, these FSE 1JZ and 2JZ engines were aimed to achieving the minimal emissions long with minimum fuel consumption with no loss of performance.
The introduced 2.5L 1JZ FSE employs the same block as the 1JZ-GE everything was up at the top, however the D4-FSE provides a relatively narrow cylinder with swirl control valve  which serves to improve the combustion efficiency,

This variant is available in models listed below:1-MARK II
2-Brevis
3-Progres
4-Verossa
5-Crown
6-Toyota MARK II BLIT

2JZThis member of the JZ family was launched on 1991 under the hood of TOYOTA Aristo, the cylinder bore was of 86 mm and the stroke was same as the cylinder bore mentioned 86 mm in VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing) was added later in 1997 the 1998 model produced by the manufacturer.

2JZ-GEThe 2JZ-GE is a common version which has the OUTPUT of  215 to 230 PS at 5,800 to 6,000 RPM
its uses the electronic fuel injection having aluminium head and 4 valves per cylinder along with some versions produced by the TOYOTA using VVT-i.

This variant is available in models listed below:

2JZ-GTE
This engine produced by the TOYOTA manufacturer has the 6 cylinders inline layout, belt is driven dual over the dual head camshafts with twin turbocharged , irony block of aluminium cylinder headed engine proudly designed by the JAPNESE MOTOR company TOYOTA.

2JZ-FSE
3 L variant of this engine version uses the same fuel injection as the 1JZ-FSE but runs at even higher compression raito of 11.3:1 ratio.

This variant is available in models listed below:1-Brevis
2-Progres
3-Crown
4-Crown Majesta
